We are an Independent Insurance Intermediary authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Our FCA authorization number is 548036 and our permitted business is arranging general insurance contracts. This can be verified on the FCA register by visiting the FCA website or by contacting the FCA on 0800 111 6768. As your intermediary we act on your behalf in arranging your insurance. Services available from Greenlight Insurance Services Limited include advising you on your insurance needs, arranging your insurance cover with insurers to meet your individual requirements and assisting you with any ongoing changes you need to make. Policy Terms & Conditions
At Greenlight Insurance Services Limited we endeavour to offer policies that best suit your individual requirements. Policy terms and conditions will have been explained verbally when you purchased your policy. The enclosed documentation summarises the key policy terms, conditions and exclusions. Complete details are contained within your insurer’s policy document included in your welcome pack.
The Law of the Insurance Contract
The parties to this proposed insurance are free to choose the law applicable to the contract. Unless otherwise agreed with the underwriters, your contract will be governed by English law.
Distance Marketing Directive
As a policyholder purchasing financial services by distance means, you have 14 days from receipt of your documentation to review and assess the cover offered along with our trading terms. If clarification is required, contact our office. If the policy does not meet your needs and is cancelled within the 14-day cooling-off period, you will incur only a pro-rata or minimal insurer charge for time on cover. Due to administrative processing involved in arranging and cancelling cover, we reserve the right to retain our commission or apply a £45 processing charge in addition to insurer time-on-risk charges. If cancelling, ensure alternative cover is arranged as required under the Road Traffic Act. Cancellation may result in removal from the Motor Insurers Database until new cover is placed.
Policy Pricing Plan
To provide our services, Greenlight Insurance Services Limited normally receives commission from insurers reflecting sourcing, placement and administration. Where insurers operate on a net commission basis, we may charge fees, which will always be declared and included in quoted figures.
Our Quotation to You
All quoted premiums include Insurance Premium Tax at the prevailing rate. Premium indications may be withdrawn or varied prior to acceptance, including changes notified by underwriters.
Evidence of No Claims Bonus
Where temporary cover is granted pending evidence of no claims bonus, you must supply proof within 14 days of commencement. Failure to provide proof may result in increased premiums or cancellation with applicable time-on-risk and administration charges. Some underwriters require proof as a condition of cover and may void policies where eligibility criteria are not met.
Mid-Term Adjustments
Policies are annual and amendments such as vehicle or driver changes may be requested subject to underwriter acceptance. Administration fees and commission retention may apply. Charges vary depending on the complexity of changes and will be advised at the time of adjustment.
Policy Cancellation
Policies are arranged annually. Early cancellation follows insurer cancellation scales. Written instruction and return of documentation are required. Refunds, where applicable, are processed by insurers and may take up to 90 days. Claims affecting liability may eliminate refund entitlement. We reserve the right to retain commission or charge applicable processing fees. Cooling-off cancellations incur stated fees and insurer minimum charges.
List of Transaction Charges
Administration charges apply in addition to insurer premiums: Policy Issue (enhanced validation) £69.50; Policy Issue £54.50; Policy Amendment £25.00; Temporary Amendment £30.00; Cancellation within 14 days £45.00; Cancellation after 14 days £25.00. Charges may vary for complex transactions and will be confirmed in advance.
Policy Cover Providers
Insurance cover may involve multiple insurers where required to provide quoted protection. Any additional providers will be disclosed within your documentation and renewal communications.
Confidentiality/Data Protection
Customer information is treated confidentially. Verification procedures ensure instructions are accepted only from authorized parties. Data is held in accordance with applicable legislation.
Premiums Received
Premiums are held as agent of the insurer in designated accounts. Interest handling complies with insurer agreements.
Duty of Disclosure
Insurance placement is based on information provided. Failure to disclose material facts may invalidate cover. Disclosure obligations continue throughout the policy term. Written acknowledgements confirm updates; if not received within seven working days, please resubmit information.
Notice to Policyholder
Information supplied may be shared with insurers, regulatory bodies and anti-fraud registers including MID, CUE and MIAFTR for underwriting, fraud prevention and claims handling. Databases assist in identifying uninsured drivers and improving administration efficiency. Public data sources may be used for verification. All insured drivers should be informed of this notice.
Procedure for Complaints
We aim to provide high service standards. Concerns should be directed to our office, where complaints are investigated promptly and acknowledged in writing. A final response is issued within eight weeks. Unresolved complaints may be referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service, Exchange Tower, Harbour Exchange Square, London E14 9SR.
Financial Services Compensation Scheme
Greenlight Insurance Services Limited is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Compensation eligibility depends on the claim type. Compulsory insurance is covered at 100%; non-compulsory insurance is covered at 90%. Further information is available at www.fscs.org.uk.
